About the role
- Design, implement, and manage Windows-based infrastructure solutions
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in Windows systems, Active Directory, M365 products, and Azure to ensure high availability and performance
- Maintain and optimize Azure cloud services for scalability, security, and performance
- Provide support for commonly used corporate applications and resolve issues quickly
- Manage and deploy patches to Windows OS systems using SCCM
- Manage SAN storage devices and backups/business continuity solutions
- Assist with VMware environments including virtual machine creation and maintenance
- Implement and cable new hardware (servers, storage, etc.) and occasionally travel to data centers
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot to minimize downtime
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align IT infrastructure with business units
- Document system configurations, processes, and procedures
- Stay updated with industry trends and recommend innovative solutions
- Other tasks as required
Requirements
- Minimum of 7 years of experience as a Systems Engineer or in a similar role
- Strong knowledge and troubleshooting skills of Windows and related back-office technologies
- Strong expertise in Windows Server (2016, 2019, or later), Active Directory, and M365 products
- Hands-on experience with Azure cloud services (Azure Active Directory, Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Storage)
- Proficient in VMware environments
- Proficient in networking and troubleshooting (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP)
- Experience in automating tasks using PowerShell or other scripting languages
- Familiarity with Linux systems is a plus
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Strong communication skills to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to manage tasks with emphasis on efficiency and timely delivery
- Must occasionally travel to data centers to install, wire and configure systems
- Participation in an on-call rotation
- Preferred: Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, VMware Certified Professional, or similar
