About the role
- Support month-end close process and work with finance leadership and cross-functional departments
- Manage operating expenses and analyze financial data to provide insights supporting business decisions
- Build and develop models, tools and mechanisms to address business opportunities, drive automation, and improve internal controls
- Maintain and enhance expense forecasting and analyze non-compensation expense trends, identifying drivers of variance and recommending cost control strategies
- Develop reporting methodology for actual vs. plan, forecast, and prior year variance analysis at various levels
- Highlight critical variances and partner with managers to identify remedial actions for spend monitoring and issue resolution
- Analyze financial information and key operating metrics and produce analytical reporting packages for practice group management
- Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver ad-hoc financial analysis and projects
- Train and assist junior analyst with plan/forecast and month-end processes and maintain supporting documentation
- Support the Sr. Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis in working with Department Directors to establish and execute financial objectives
- Identify and implement process innovations to enhance financial operations, accuracy, and efficiency
- Leverage existing systems to enhance the quality, efficiency and timeliness of business financial reporting
- Apply communication skills to facilitate annual budget and quarterly forecast processes and document processes for knowledge sharing and cross-training
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field is required
- Minimum of 3-5 years of related experience in financial analysis including, but not limited to financial modeling, reporting, budgeting and forecasting in a corporate or professional services environment
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills required, proficiency in financial modeling and forecasting techniques
- Effective communication and social skills, ability to partner cross-functionally and with all levels of firm personnel
- Proven analytical and organizational skills, with strong accountability
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Self-starter with experience managing projects to tight deadlines
- Proven technical aptitude and skills, with the ability to quickly learn and effectively apply new technologies and software applications
- Experience with Tableau and Pigment a plus, not required
