About the role

  • Provide timely legal advice and general legal support internationally, focusing on EMEA
  • Identify and arrange appropriate local legal support, internally or externally
  • Manage regional GGS-employed or external attorneys and legal professionals on commercial, governance and compliance matters
  • Support the General Counsel EMEA in reviewing and advising on strategic and business initiatives to ensure legal compliance
  • Manage drafting, evaluation, negotiation through to execution of commercial agreements including NDAs, Sales/Purchasing Agreements, Sub-contracts and review of customer proposed terms
  • Serve as the legal point of contact for internal and external customers on contractual matters and act as contractual liaison
  • Maintain contractual records and documentation, including contract correspondence and status reports
  • Train managers and employees in contracting practices, group policies and legal compliance
  • Ensure legal compliance in areas including anti-corruption and competition laws and monitor employee compliance with procedures
  • Work with Finance on revenue recognition, pricing and discounting policies, export controls and broader finance/risk requirements
  • Support Regional Management/Marketing to ensure products and services are offered with appropriate terms
  • Ensure signed contracts are communicated to relevant parties to provide contract visibility and support implementation
  • Manage legal, governance and compliance matters relating to change management
  • Monitor transaction compliance (milestones, deliverables, invoicing) and ensure contract close-out, extension or renewal
  • Report to General Counsel Europe

Requirements

  • License to practice law in France
  • Previous experience as an in-house lawyer preferable but not required
  • 4+ years previous qualified experience
  • Strong relevant experience from major firms and / or relevant company experience
  • Broad understanding of all aspects of commercial law with international experience
  • Fluency in English and French required
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong character able to defend contractual positioning
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Good attention to detail and proven drafting ability
  • Confident and articulate
  • Strong commercial instincts and the ability to work within a competitively challenging environment
  • Able to develop simple solutions to complex legal questions
  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver results
  • Highly self motivated and directed
  • Collaborative and pro-active in style
