About the role

  • Support the company's legal and compliance functions, particularly in intellectual property, regulatory compliance, contract management, and legal operations
  • Assist in the administration and maintenance of the company's compliance programs, including export controls, sanctions, data privacy (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), anti-corruption, and intellectual property
  • Support export control compliance efforts: assist with product classifications, license applications, sanctions screening, and maintaining records of export transactions
  • Support the full lifecycle of contracts: drafting and review of standard agreements (NDAs, vendor agreements, partnership contracts), managing contract database, ensuring execution and filing
  • Provide administrative and operational support to the legal team: manage legal invoices, maintain department calendar, organize legal files and records
  • Conduct legal and factual regulatory research on topics affecting the quantum computing industry
  • Assist in gathering information and documents for litigation, investigations, or disputes; coordinate with outside counsel and internal stakeholders
  • Help prepare materials for and assist in delivering internal training sessions on legal and compliance topics
  • Handle day-to-day administrative tasks including scheduling meetings, preparing presentations, and coordinating travel

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a paralegal, legal assistant, or similar role
  • Proven experience working in a corporate law firm setting, or proven experience working in an in-house legal department at a technology company
  • Strong understanding of legal principles and practices, with excellent legal research and writing skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and legal software/databases
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team environment (preferred)
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal (preferred)
  • Experience and familiarity with contract management and legal ops software (preferred)
  • Direct experience with U.S. and/or international export control regulations (e.g., ITAR, EAR) (preferred)
  • Experience with other regulatory compliance frameworks, such as data privacy (GDPR, CCPA), anti-bribery (FCPA), or antitrust laws (preferred)
  • Direct experience with intellectual property processes and documentation (preferred)
