About the role
- Design functional, reliable and cost-effective heavy-duty vehicle high voltage electrical systems
- Perform engineering analysis and electrical design or re-design, and development of electrical systems and subsystems into existing and new vehicles
- Provide integration and execution support for vehicle control and embedded systems development
- Under supervision, perform engineering calculations, investigations, and assigned tasks according to corporate and industry engineering standards and processes
- Support senior engineers in preparation of plans, designs, computation methods, and reporting
- Responsible for a project or part of a project of limited complexity; may manage multiple projects
- Collaborate with other engineering or business support disciplines internally and with suppliers externally
- Provide guidance or mentorship to entry level engineers, designers, or technicians
- Design and integrate electrical components and circuitry into heavy duty vehicles
- Provide technical assistance for prototype, pilot or production builds, including resolution of manufacturing problems
- Participate in one or more projects of limited complexity
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- US Citizens only
- Accredited Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
- Three (3) or more years of related experience
- Accredited Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (standout)
- Familiarity with programming languages and controls software
- Familiarity with Controller Area Network (CAN)/SAE J1939 protocol
- Automotive High Voltage Training/Certification(s)
- Power Electronics and Machines familiarity
- Energy Storage system familiarity
- Vehicle electrification experience (component integration)
- Integration of high voltage components within a vehicle
- Electro hydraulic pump integration (or similar)
- Experience with vehicle electrification in defense applications
