About the role

  • Lead the acquisition, maintenance, conversion, rental, and disposal of company vehicles
  • Manage contracts with external providers across fleet services, fuel, telematics, and risk management
  • Control and reduce fleet costs while ensuring full compliance with UK legislation
  • Oversee driver risk management, safety training, and vehicle-related policies
  • Act as the subject matter expert on all fleet matters, advising stakeholders at every level
  • Lead and develop a small team to deliver excellence in fleet management
  • Collaborate with colleagues across Operations, Finance, HR, Carbon, and beyond to ensure fleet is safe, cost-effective, and future-ready
  • Drive innovation, support transition to Electric vehicles and deliver on commitment to operate a 100% zero-emission fleet by 2030

Requirements

  • A formal fleet qualification (e.g. AFP or similar) and a CPC for Road Transport
  • At least 5 years’ experience managing mixed car and commercial fleets
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle legislation, leasing, contract management, and risk management
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and motivate
  • A track record of delivering cost savings, operational improvements, and innovative fleet strategies
