About the role
- Design and test LED luminaires and related accessories.
- Help bring these items into production.
- Use input from sales and marketing to develop creative solutions that are ready for manufacturing.
- Develop manufacturing processes and test methods.
- Support ongoing quality, product improvement and product maintenance initiatives.
- Specify and select materials, processes and vendors.
- Work with manufacturers and production staff to ensure products are produced within specifications and refine manufacturing processes.
- Diagnose product failures and implement corrective actions.
- Execution of duties in a timely manner.
- Occasionally work after hours for meetings with team members in other time zones.
- Occasionally travel to other company facilities, suppliers, trade shows, job sites, etc.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university (with major in mechanical or electrical engineering, or related)
- 5+ years of related experience
- Experience with injection molding, extruding, 3D printing, machining, casting, laser cutting preferred
- Experience with Solidworks or related 3D software preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills (position requires collaboration across departments)
- Fluency in English
