About the role
- Perform all phases of the software development lifecycle (Agile / DevOps)
- Lead/facilitate solutioning discussions with the customer and vendor
- Analyze user/business needs and functionality to plan and design software systems to meet those needs
- Identify system interface requirements and develop solutions to meet the requirements
- Create a variety of models and diagrams that show programmers the software code needed for an application
- Perform software updates, refinement, testing, and debugging to meet business needs
- Provide analysis for reports on software project specifications, activities, or status
- Advise on the software or system for optimal documentation and future maintenance and updates
- Coach and provide guidance to less experienced professionals and may serve as a team or task lead
- Ensure technical teams understand short term and long-term goals by facilitating communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Assess project issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals
- Help clarify requirements and propose solutions that meet business milestones and direct technical implementations
- Engage current customers to understand critical needs, socialize and vet solutions, and advise on strategies to achieve desired results
- Identify and select the best technical solutions and approaches to meet anticipated or actual requirements
- Diagnose larger system issues and work with project managers to complete projects on time
- Help determine high-level and detailed estimates, create technical workflow and supporting documentation, and implement best practices around technical development and deployment
Requirements
- BA/BS degree (computer science/systems, information systems/technology, engineering/engineering technology, software)
- 5+ years of technical leadership experience
- 5+ years of related experience
- Appian Certified Lead Developer
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Scrum Product Owner (CSPO)
- SAFe Agilist or SAFe DevOps Practitioner
- Effective written and verbal communication skills (both technical and non-technical)
- Track record of leading and managing successful Appian implementations
- Deep experience in developing and managing Appian workflows, user interfaces, decision rules, and data models
- Thorough understanding of and experience in software development lifecycle and Agile delivery methodology

- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance and successfully pass a thorough Government background screening process requiring detailed forms and fingerprinting (MBI (T2))
- U.S. residency requirement for clearance: selected candidate must have resided in the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for the last five years; U.S. Citizens cannot have left the U.S. for longer than 6 months consecutively in the last 3 years (unless exceptions apply); Non-U.S. Citizens cannot have left the U.S. for longer than 90 days consecutively in the last 3 years.
