💰 $78,800 - $120,000 per year
About the role
- Provide technical direction and guidance to craft labor in support of a power equipment outage
- Perform services and maintenance activities on customers' site/property to contribute to, maintain, repair and refurbish sold or existing products
- Execute preventive and remedial maintenance service and manage maintenance facilities and field services engineering
- Plan and execute activities that impact departmental operations within standard functional practices and procedures
- Troubleshoot control and instrumentation systems at all levels, from field devices to control system, and networking
- Use technical expertise and analytic thinking to solve problems and propose solutions within set parameters
- Collaborate with customers, suppliers, GE project management and engineering communities
- Provide informal guidance to new team members and may serve as an individual contributor or early people leader
- Document, plan, market, and execute programs and projects as required
Requirements
- Industrial automation, Electrical, or electronic engineering degree from an accredited university or college (or a High School Diploma / GED and a minimum of 4 years of industry experience)
- 4 years of field engineering experience in power generation, industrial plant automation, distributed, PLC (programmable logic controller) or similar industry sectors
- Ability to troubleshoot control and instrumentation systems at all levels, from field devices to control system, and networking
- Must be able to generate immediate credibility with customers, suppliers, GE project management / engineering communities
- Strong customer focus, interpersonal and computer skills
- Ability to multi-task in a dynamic, geographically dispersed team environment
- Effective written and oral communication skills with excellent spoken and written English skills
- Customer-focused skills, demonstrated by experience in field services, customer services or project management
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
- Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
- Established project management skills
- Previous industrial field service experience
- Controls experience to equipment that functions as a "prime mover"
- Electronics and/or mechanical troubleshooting skills
- "Hands-on approach"
- Computer skills, familiarity with MS Office, TCP/IP configuration
- Prior mechanical / maintenance experience preferred
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening
- Successful completion of a drug screen (as applicable)
