About the role

  • Lead Functional Requirement implementation, validation, and vehicle integration of Electric Power Steering (EPS) Systems with a focus on ensuring overall safe system/vehicle operation.
  • Perform/Lead EPS System implementation design reviews and analysis including system functionality, electro-mechanical hardware reviews, electrical architecture, Failure Mode Avoidance (FMA), and fault management & diagnostic strategies.
  • Ensure Functional Safety (ISO-26262) is met with the system design and validation.
  • Manage steering supplier to achieve program milestone deliverables for the overall system function.
  • Conduct component and vehicle level testing for steering system validation.
  • Lead issue investigations including vehicle data collection and root cause analysis.
  • Collaborate with Vehicle Engineering and Driver Assistance Feature Engineers to ensure optimal steering and feature performance.
  • Collaborate with Steering Software Engineer to deliver EPS system to program milestones.

Requirements

  • BS Engineering- Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical, Computer Engineering or strongly related.
  • 3 years of experience with automotive Electric Power Steering (EPS) Systems.
  • MS in Engineering- Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical, Computer Engineering or strongly related. (preferred)
  • Experience applying Systems Engineering. (preferred)
  • Familiarity with Vector CANAPE and CANalyzer MATLAB and Simulink a definite plus. (preferred)
  • Troubleshooting experience with electromechanical systems. (preferred)
  • Prior D&R experience with proven track record of successful program delivery. (preferred)
  • Experience developing and executing test plans. (preferred)
  • Experience applying engineering disciplines for failure mode avoidance. (preferred)
  • Familiarity with ISO-26262. (preferred)
  • Demonstrated proficiency with CAN communication and databases. (preferred)
  • Good communications and project management skills. (preferred)
  • Strong leadership skills, passion for quality, passion to improve customer satisfaction. (preferred)
  • Natural and comfortable with high levels of a multi-functional collaboration. (preferred)
  • Effective teamwork skills. (preferred)
