Lead electrical design projects and lead a team to implement designs for installation.
Select and recommend procedures in design; review, analyze, and integrate technical requirements and design approaches.
Perform non-routine and complex assignments involving planning and conducting complete projects of various scopes.
Plan and schedule team activities; assign and schedule tasks to engineers, designers, and administrative staff.
Estimate specifications, requisition, calculation, and quantities for proposed projects.
Develop budget requirements (time and materials) and monitor/manage team performance and budget compliance.
Develop and forecast staffing requirements and quantities for installation.
Coordinate project activities across multiple office locations and with other engineering disciplines.
Review complete project documents for conformity and quality assurance; assure adherence to applicable codes, standards, and project requirements.
Conceptually identify interface requirements for existing facilities and participate in constructability reviews.
Develop new techniques and/or improved processes, materials, or products.
Provide field support including field verifications for retrofit applications, as-built documentation, on-site procurement and installation supervision.
Provide support to field construction and commissioning activities; monitor and report on project engineering discipline status to Project Manager/Leadership Team.
Participate in client meetings and assist upper-level management and staff as a technical specialist or advisor.
Mentor younger professionals and provide design guidance for raceway systems, lighting systems, grounding systems, schematics, wiring diagrams, and one-line/three-line diagrams.
Coordinate with engineering and other crafts to assure a complete, coordinated design.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from a 4 year ABET accredited college.
Minimum of 7 years of electrical engineering design experience on Power and/or Industrial Projects.
Professional Engineering License with the ability to obtain licensure in other states within the US.
Prior Lead Engineer experience with executing projects.
Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code, IEEE/ANSI Standards and NEMA Standards.
Experience with Medium and Low Voltage Equipment and Cables.
Must be able to understand and comply with company policies, procedures, and processes.
Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interface with Senior Company Leadership.
Must be organized, self-directed, able to prioritize and multi-task, work in a team environment and take direction from others.
Willingness to travel and work in office and field environments as necessary.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.
Preferred: Lead Electrical Engineer on Engineer, Procure and Construct Projects.
Preferred: 15-20 years of electrical engineering design experience preferred for Combined Cycle Power Plants.
Preferred: Experience with OTI ETAP software for Electrical System Analysis and Relay Coordination.
Preferred: Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code preferred.
Preferred: Experience with Switchyards, Large Power Transformers, Generator Circuit Breakers, and other large power equipment.
Preferred: Prior experience with the procurement of electrical equipment such as transformers, breakers, switchgears, cables, etc.
May be required to lift, carry and move objects safely.
