About the role

  • Apply technical safety standards, principles, theories, and concepts to independently develop approaches to solutions for a wide range of difficult occupational safety problems.
  • Coordinate with team members to implement plant-wide safety processes such as the Company’s Safety Operating System (SOS), emergency response planning, safety training.
  • Work with senior engineers and managers to contribute to milestones within specific projects.
  • Support Senior Director and Director of Occupational Safety in requests, reports, applications, etc.
  • Collaborate with global team in enterprise technology for application modernization such as SOS, SOI, OHSIM.
  • Work with GDIA team for dashboard development, implementation, enhancements.
  • Serve as technical resource for GSET applications and dashboards for global operations.
  • Proficient in OHSIM, PLAID, GERT reporting, MSS, DAM reports, SharePoint.
  • Corporate safety point of contact for all safety training and Oracle training reports; interface with Training and Development teams.
  • Support health and safety coaching visits and periodic facility visits to support and confirm corporate processes.
  • Manage the OHS SharePoint site and lead safety communications including posting to Blue Oval Now application.
  • Support/lead development and distribution of Safety Alerts and corrective actions; work with global regional safety leads.
  • Experience with Governance, Risk, Compliance system and control testing process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Safety/Health Sciences, Industrial Hygiene, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience.
  • Minimum 1 year of work experience with a Doctorate or 3 years of occupational safety work experience with a Master’s degree or 5 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Health and Safety, Occupational Safety, or a related field.
  • Involves frequent (defined as one to two-thirds of the time) lifting of more than 10 to 25 pounds.
  • Work performed requires a good deal of walking or standing and may include some sedentary work and working conditions that include moderate noise levels related to the use of office equipment or machinery.
  • May involve exposure to varying outside temperatures.
  • Certified Safety Professional (Preferred)
  • Certified Industrial Hygienist (Preferred)
