About the role
- Lead development of manufacturing feasibility plans for new parents, new technology, and high-risk commodities.
- Review quality performance and evaluate enhancements for continuous improvement in interior commodity manufacturing
- Drive implementation of robust manufacturing quality control strategies
- Provide support to Site STA, engaging supplier’s Global Management team to address systemic quality, capacity, and manufacturing issues.
- Support the development and maintenance of interior commodity manufacturing standards
- Drive robust sourcing risk assessments on suppliers
- Collaborate with peers in STA, Product Development, and Purchasing
- Work with product engineering on design and engineering specifications (ES) to address feasibility issues
- Provide guidance to purchasing for outsourced components/assemblies related to interior commodity manufacturing process and testing procedures
- Coordinate efforts regarding FMA, SCCAF, pass through characteristics and quality metrics with cross-functional team
- Develop global lessons learned and prevent recurrence.
Requirements
- 3 - 5 years minimum experience in Manufacturing and/or Engineering
- 5+ years of relevant management experience
- Bachelor of Science/Engineering or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
- Flexibility to travel approximately 50-70%
- MBA/MS preferred – Chemical/Electrical/Mechanical
- Knowledge in manufacturing, Interior Commodity Preferred (e.g. Injection Molding, Foam in Place, Vac Forming, IMG, IMGL, Paint, Press Bonding, welding, stamping, assembly, etc.)
- Ability to speak and write in the English language fluently to effectively communicate with global teams
- Experience in performing manufacturing feasibility assessments
- Operational experience in manufacturing processes and process control
- Experience in project management and/or program launch
- Experience in process planning, implementation, and launch of Interior Commodity manufacturing systems (IP’s, consoles, headliners, door panels, seats, restraints, seat structures)
