About the role
- Independently perform procedures such as Bone Marrow Biopsy, Skin Punch Biopsy, and other indicated procedures
- Assess patients via interview, health history, and physical examination
- Acquire patient consent, consults, H&P, patient education, health promotion, and care coordination
- Interpret and evaluate findings of diagnostic studies/tests
- Write prescriptions for medication, blood products, and diagnostic/follow-up studies per protocols
- Relay patient care information to collaborating physician
- Administer therapeutic measures and obtain specimens
- Dictate follow-up letters to referring physicians summarizing treatment and plan
- Document patient history, admissions, progress notes, and discharge notes timely
- Assist in management of family dynamics and coping during acute and chronic care phases
- Assist staff in times of crisis or emergency
- Comply with all federal/state laws and FCS policies including IT and Disaster Recovery Plan
- Maintain company equipment and assist in training new employees
- Work at any FCS location to meet business needs as directed by collaborating physician
- Work required travel to Trinity, Mease, Largo, St. Pete, Sun City locations
Requirements
- Master's degree in nursing program OR graduate of a nationally accredited physician assistant program
- Active, unencumbered advanced registered nurse practitioner licensure in the State of Florida or physician assistant licensure
- National Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner or National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants
- Minimum of two years of experience as an Advanced Practice Provider
- Experience in Bone Marrow Biopsy, Skin Punch Biopsy, and other procedures, preferred
- Willingness to work at any FCS location as directed
- Willingness to work overtime when given sufficient notice
- Compliance with federal and state laws and regulations pertaining to patient privacy, personnel law, safety, labor, and employment law
- Vaccinations required, including influenza vaccine unless exemption
- Background, drug, and nicotine screens (drug-free workplace); Medical Marijuana cards not recognized
- Ability to perform independent procedures and collaborate with Medical Oncologists
- Strong interpersonal skills; effective verbal and written communication
- Solid time management and ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- Ability to collaborate across levels of management and teams
- Comfortable negotiating problems and exploring solutions with physician population
