About the role
- Be a technical leader in the design and optimization of Fervo’s innovative power plants, applying advanced engineering judgment and first-principles analysis
- Own specification generation, design, and analysis of electrical systems for power generation and surface facilities (power delivery, systems, transmission, distribution, substations)
- Drive first-principles tradeoff analysis across power delivery systems to optimize plant performance
- Identify opportunities to simplify and accelerate designs while maintaining technical excellence
- Inform and support procurement efforts relating to electrical scopes of power plant designs
- Mentor junior engineers and influence cross-disciplinary decision-making; contribute to culture of technical excellence and accountability
- Collaborate closely across disciplines (process, electrical, reservoir, drilling) and with external partners
- Report to the Power Engineering Supervisor and take responsibility for cost, safety, and constructability
Requirements
- B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
- 4+ years of experience in electrical engineering in large capital projects
- Experience with design and commissioning of power delivery and electrical utilization systems, including transmission distribution, and/or utilization substations.
- Proven ability to execute design, analysis, and field support for complex electrical systems within multidisciplinary project teams
- Familiar with core relevant codes and standards
- Strong communication skills; with the ability to clearly convey technical information and collaborate effectively across engineering, operations, and external partners
