About the role
- Oversee all aspects of water management to support drilling & completions operations
- Plan and execute well completion activities including stimulation, site prep, drillout, and intervention
- Manage water sourcing, logistics, and supply for drilling & completions projects
- Plan and budget for water wells and interventions and provide engineering support during execution
- Provide technical support to drilling & completions teams to ensure safe and effective operations
- Serve as primary liaison with water suppliers, regulators, and vendors; negotiate contracts and manage procurement
- Lead permitting process for water-related activities ensuring regulatory compliance
- Support water supply for crossflow testing and specialized field operations
- Contribute to maintaining the drilling & completions schedule with the project controls team
- Report to the Completions Manager and support Fervo Energy’s geothermal development mission
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Petroleum, Environmental, or Water Resources Engineering, or related field
- Strong technical background in water sourcing, supply, and transfer management
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and budgets
- Experience with regulatory compliance and permitting
- Strong communication and negotiation skills for engaging internal teams & external stakeholders
- Adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced, innovative environment
- Willingness to travel up to 25–30% to field locations
- Preferred: 5+ years of experience in water management, supply, and planning in the energy or heavy industrial sectors
- Preferred: Experience working with land, shale, or tight resource projects
- Preferred: Direct or indirect experience supporting drilling & completions teams
