About the role
- Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade computer hardware, operating systems, applications, and peripherals
- Perform analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of problems related to computer hardware, operating systems, applications, and peripherals
- Recommend and implement proactive or automated solutions to resolve recurring system-related issues
- Monitor and assess system performance, making recommendations for upgrades as needed
- Provide end-user support via phone, email, and in person to resolve technical issues
- Ensure appropriate LAN and wireless LAN connectivity across Fender’s systems
- Maintain accurate inventory of hardware, software, and IT assets
- Document support activities, helpdesk tickets, and technical resolutions
- Provision user accounts, permissions, and services within Active Directory, Exchange, VPN, and printing systems
- Perform basic network and security functions, such as resetting passwords, managing file permissions, and monitoring access
- Collaborate with approved vendors for hardware, software, and services support
- Additional duties as assigned
Requirements
- College diploma or university degree in Computer Science, or 2+ years equivalent IT support experience
- A+ and/or MCSE certifications preferred
- Hands-on desktop/laptop hardware troubleshooting and installation (PC and Mac)
- Strong technical knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Office, Active Directory, Exchange, and TCP/IP networking
- Experience with handheld terminal scanners, Zebra printers, USB barcode scanners, and network printing is a plus
- Cisco, Citrix, Raspberry Pi, SAP or other ERP knowledge preferred
- Ability to build/configure servers from scratch is desirable
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users
- Customer-service orientation with strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment and work flexible hours to support planned outages
- Ability to adhere to safety procedures, rules, and regulations and to wear personal protective equipment while on the factory floor
