About the role

  • Join a diverse, fun team passionate about creating healthier and more just communities as Faith in Place’s Associate Development Director, Individual Giving.
  • Serve as the fourth member of a collaborative Development Team securing financial resources for Faith in Place supporting Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin communities.
  • Overall responsibility for identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of individual donors.
  • Develop and implement data-driven strategies to increase yearly individual giving revenue from $300,000 (FY 2025 goal) to $500,000 (FY 2028 goal).
  • Manage spring and end-of-year annual fundraising campaigns.
  • Monitor and improve donor thanking to ensure all individual donors are thanked promptly, effectively, and consistently.
  • Design and implement donor stewardship events, with initial focus on Sustainers Circle major donors.
  • Write individual donor fundraising proposals and reports.
  • Increase planned giving, including legacy gifts (bequests).
  • Participate in other Development Team activities, such as corporate funder solicitation and foundation grant reporting.
  • Supervise up to 1 development staff person.

Requirements

  • Live in Illinois, Indiana, or Wisconsin at time of job application and, if hired, as employee.
  • At least 6-8 years of successful experience in major gifts, annual giving, donor stewardship, and/or planned giving.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills, including ability to communicate effectively and work with individuals from a wide variety of backgrounds, religions, and political beliefs.
  • Excellent analytical and project management skills.
  • Experience with donor database and CRM systems.
  • Excellent skills in standard business computer applications.
  • Passion for environmental and climate justice.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree. Significant employment experience relevant to the position may be substituted.
