About the role

  • Report to Head of Country Reports.
  • Lead and coach the Cape Town editorial team to ensure accuracy, clarity, and quality of market research.
  • Oversee editors in reviewing and fact-checking content, correcting inaccuracies, and refining language.
  • Manage workload allocation, assign, track, and prioritise editorial tasks to meet deadlines and quality goals.
  • Review and fact-check AI-assisted content and provide structured feedback to technical teams to improve AI-assisted report quality.
  • Oversee onboarding and continued training for new and existing editors.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align editorial workflows with project requirements.
  • Monitor team performance, offer regular feedback, and implement enhancements to editorial processes for speed and quality.
  • Balance editorial excellence with process efficiency in a technology-driven publishing environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in editorial or content management, ideally in market research, business intelligence, or data-driven publishing.
  • Bachelor’s degree in English or a related field.
  • Proven experience in managing and mentoring editorial teams.
  • Familiarity with editorial workflow management tools and adaptability to emerging technologies.
  • Exceptional fact-checking skills and ability to spot inconsistencies quickly.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to clearly convey complex ideas.
  • Passion for delivering accurate, trustworthy, and high-quality written content.
  • Strong interest in AI, market research, and the evolving role of technology in publishing.
  • High ethical standards and commitment to factual accuracy.
  • Collaborative leadership style and ability to motivate teams.
  • Ability to remain composed under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience with onboarding and training editors.
