About the role

Report to the Senior Manager of Network Engineering and serve as a technical resource for the Engineering team
Provide technical support to clients and build enterprise-grade networks for modern automated homes
Open tickets, diagnose, and resolve escalated Tier 1 and Tier 2 issues with remote clients’ networks
Program/provision and QC wired and wireless network systems for deployment at remote sites
Provide and maintain thorough documentation of client systems
Create and manage client accounts on ARCC and other network management platforms
Foster collaboration with clients and teammates by coaching and sharing knowledge
Learn new technologies and products and write/publish (or delegate writing) KB articles to increase team institutional knowledge
Process RMAs for defective products
Provide occasional after-hours emergency support for remote clients (usually ISP issues)

Minimum of 5 years networking experience and current CCNP certification (or equivalent)
Expert understanding of network protocols, firewalls, routers, switching, TCP/IP, STP and RF coverage
Expert understanding of wireless local area networks, authentication, security, and encryption protocols
Experience supporting customer environments in a helpdesk/support capacity
Ability to solve complex technical problems while under pressure and interfacing with clients
Custom electronics design/integration experience and familiarity with home automation systems such as Crestron, Savant, AMX, and Control4
Excellent written/verbal communication skills
Must have great organizational skills
Able to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and meet tight deadlines
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
(Valued) Ruckus Wireless Solutions Engineer (WiSE), CWNA/CWNP, ICX/Brocade certifications or equivalent experience
(Valued) Experience programming and troubleshooting Ruckus Virtual SmartZone environments
(Valued) Experience with TeamViewer or other remote desktop support applications
(Valued) Working knowledge of ConnectWise
(Valued) Python, VBScript, JavaScript, or other scripting experience
(Valued) Apple or Microsoft certifications
(Valued) VPN and SSH experience
(Valued) Web development / database experience
