About the role
- Lead technical deployment projects, including implementation plans, methods of procedure, and resource identification.
- Engineer and configure customer orders within established processes and timelines.
- Capacity Planning: Collaborate with Network Planning to manage growth and capacity.
- Monitor network performance and communicate capacity needs.
- Network Design & Implementation: Implement network designs that meet performance, reliability, and scalability requirements within SLAs.
- Serve as technical lead on complex network projects.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Represent Network Engineering on cross-functional product and project teams.
- Contribute to the development, launch, and implementation of Professional Services offerings.
Requirements
- Minimum 7 years of hands-on engineering experience. Prior experience in sales engineering or network design is a plus. Cisco certifications (CCNP or CCIE) highly recommended. Extensive experience with configuration and maintenance of firewalls, routers, hubs, bridges, and switches . Deep understanding of TCP/IP platforms and dynamic routing protocols (EIGRP, OSPF, BGP). Practical experience with heterogeneous networking components , VLANs, ATM, Frame Relay, and optical carriers. Proficiency in using network analysis, management, and performance monitoring tools . Familiarity with security-related sources (e.g., BugTraq, CERT). Experience with hardware and software firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Checkpoint). Knowledge of wireless technology and conducting wireless site surveys . Proficiency in Visio for creating detailed network diagrams. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Expert-level knowledge of TCP/IP and related enhancements. Strong understanding of routing/switching technologies . Experience with network discovery, audits, and assessments . Working knowledge of DS3, T1, OC3, ISDN, Frame Relay, SONET, ATM, DSL . Excellent oral and written communication skills. Experience with Cisco DNAC/SDA , ISE , and scripting is a plus. Education Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent job-related experience.
