About the role

  • Service several client sites and various types of treatment facilities within the North East region/Eastern Seaboard
  • Coordinate water treatment equipment delivery and exchange
  • Hook up hoses and rinses in various types of exchangeable water treatment equipment
  • Drain, disconnect hoses and prepare equipment for shipment
  • Record operational data from process control instruments, meters, gauges, and chemical metering systems
  • Perform calculations related to water chemistry, gallonage processed, capacities, and resin exhaustion predictions
  • Operate, inspect, adjust, and monitor process equipment for air, water, and solids handling systems
  • Perform process control testing and field testing of water and wastewater
  • Perform preventive maintenance using hand tools, power tools and precision equipment per O&M guidelines
  • Clean equipment, machinery, and buildings
  • Respond to alarms and emergency situations at various facilities/systems
  • Communicate with peers and superiors via verbal and written communications
  • Maintain personal safety record and comply with project/site safety requirements and PPE
  • Evaluate physical characteristics of water and waste streams
  • Maintain consistent production quality and work records

Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in water filtration and/or water treatment
  • Hands-on experience in servicing and maintaining water and wastewater treatment systems
  • Knowledge of ion exchange treatment a plus
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER certificate/8-hour refresher preferred (can be completed upon hire if not current)
  • Ability to comprehend and follow safety procedures
  • Ability to operate equipment, meters, and gauges
  • Knowledge of basic arithmetic and algebra
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook)
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently
  • Customer-focused mindset and ability to maintain strong relationships
  • Full driving licence and ability to travel locally and regionally (approx. 25%)
