About the role
- Service several client sites and various types of treatment facilities within the North East region/Eastern Seaboard
- Coordinate water treatment equipment delivery and exchange
- Hook up hoses and rinses in various types of exchangeable water treatment equipment
- Drain, disconnect hoses and prepare equipment for shipment
- Record operational data from process control instruments, meters, gauges, and chemical metering systems
- Perform calculations related to water chemistry, gallonage processed, capacities, and resin exhaustion predictions
- Operate, inspect, adjust, and monitor process equipment for air, water, and solids handling systems
- Perform process control testing and field testing of water and wastewater
- Perform preventive maintenance using hand tools, power tools and precision equipment per O&M guidelines
- Clean equipment, machinery, and buildings
- Respond to alarms and emergency situations at various facilities/systems
- Communicate with peers and superiors via verbal and written communications
- Maintain personal safety record and comply with project/site safety requirements and PPE
- Evaluate physical characteristics of water and waste streams
- Maintain consistent production quality and work records
Requirements
- High school diploma
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in water filtration and/or water treatment
- Hands-on experience in servicing and maintaining water and wastewater treatment systems
- Knowledge of ion exchange treatment a plus
- 40-hour HAZWOPER certificate/8-hour refresher preferred (can be completed upon hire if not current)
- Ability to comprehend and follow safety procedures
- Ability to operate equipment, meters, and gauges
- Knowledge of basic arithmetic and algebra
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook)
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and efficiently
- Customer-focused mindset and ability to maintain strong relationships
- Full driving licence and ability to travel locally and regionally (approx. 25%)
