About the role
- Responsible for the day-to-day management of reports of sexual misconduct, including case management, filing, and investigations
- Review and monitor ongoing cases in the case management system to ensure correct and timely processing
- Pull data from and create reports in the case management system; facilitate routine system testing and updates to analytics, templates, reports, forms, and picklists
- Upload hearing audio/Zoom recordings, documentation, and communications into the case management system; maintain database of recorded hearings
- Serve as technical support for DTIX's case management system and hearings (including creating/managing Zoom breakout rooms and recordings)
- Coordinate case management trainings & refreshers for DTIX staff and onboard staff on filing protocols
- Collaborate with Emory IT liaison and system client manager to troubleshoot and implement system modifications
- Control access to the case management system and departmental files; perform conduct checks and add sanctions into applicable cases
- Ensure compliance with FERPA, Clery, Title IX, and Emory University document retention policy; produce case files for DTIX and OGC upon request
- Create and update internal filing protocols; organize folders and assist DTIX staff with filing questions
- Maintain contract investigators' access to work product folders and upload case material regularly
- Create and edit protocols and processes for investigations, hearings, mediations, and appeals
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant area of specialization
- Two years of relevant professional experience
- Experience working with Microsoft Office products and utilizing databases
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with diverse students, faculty, staff, and community members, often in times of crisis and high emotional stress
- Demonstrated experience in roles requiring strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Knowledge of or prior experience working with compliance related to government regulations that pertain to students, faculty, and university staff, including Title IX, FERPA, Clery, VAWA
- Ability to produce case files for DTIX and Office of General Counsel (OGC)
- Ability to serve as technical support for case management system and hearings
- Must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs
- This role requires residency in the state of GA
- (Preferred) Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies or Paralegal certification
- (Preferred) Demonstrated participation in programs designed to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion
- (Preferred) Prior experience with Advocate case management system or similar
- (Preferred) Experience providing consultation to university faculty, staff, and administration
