About the role
- Provide expert support for PLCs and/or DCS systems at customer locations
- Analyze and address problems associated with installation, start-up, and operation of distributed control systems and sub-systems
- Perform on-site instruction of customer personnel and write/modify maintenance procedures
- Conduct quality control tests, product evaluations, and provide complete timely reports on activities
- Direct efforts of personnel engaged in installation, modification, or repair of control systems and equipment
- Provide engineering advisory assistance to customers and act as internal liaison
- Cultivate relationships with internal project teams, customer project teams, and contractors
- Apply troubleshooting, problem-solving, decision-making, and planning skills
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or a similar technical curriculum, or relevant field engineer experience in lieu of education
- Understanding of basic networking and computer assembly/troubleshooting experience
- Ability to travel up to 50-75% (seasonal)
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future
- Preferred: working understanding of Ladder Logic, SAMA diagrams & P&ID prints
- Preferred: Experience with DCS/PLC controls
- Preferred: Experience in the power and water/wastewater treatment industries
