Evaluate manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs and applying product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials knowledge
Develop, modify and maintain manufacturing of cabinets and ensure documentation accuracy (cabinet books)
Initiate and develop solutions to improve yield and reduce manufacturing costs
Ensure consistency to assembly schedules and implement agreed projects
Apply Lean methodologies to eliminate non-value added operations
Conduct industrial engineering activities: time studies, line layout and capacity studies
Provide technical support and training to technicians; manage and supervise project technicians
Initiate, coordinate and lead cross-functional groups on engineering or manufacturing issues
Generate integration and assembly schedules and progress reports; review and maintain BOMs and drawings
Follow up material ordering and delivery; coordinate with logistics, planning, procurement and quality
Coordinate with project team (project manager and lead engineer) and external integrator partners
Conduct powering up of cabinets and support Pre-FAT/FAT and testing activities
Maintain project execution through Oracle until closing the sales order
Develop/implement new processes and optimize current processes to improve productivity and reduce cost
Conduct internal audits and support external audits and facility approvals
Adhere to Health, Safety & Environment policies as laid by the organization
Requirements
College/University Degree, preferably in Electrical Engineering or instrumentation
Graduate degree is a plus
5 to 10+ years experience
Strong communication skills; capable of engaging at the most senior levels within Emerson and key customers/inspectors
Skillful application of contracting development and negotiations
Respect and ensure alignment to EHS regulations and Emerson trade compliance rules
Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & power-point)
Knowledge of Oracle is advantageous
Understanding of international workmanship standards for mechanical assembly/wiring and ability to train technicians
Experience with Lean methodologies and industrial engineering activities (time study, line layout, capacity study)
Ability to work as a quality engineer and manage multiple projects and tasks
Experience conducting internal audits and supporting external audits
