💰 $105,100 - $175,100 per year
About the role
- Design, procure and commission measurement systems for wind and solar energy projects (tall meteorological towers, ground solar assessment stations, wind profiling lidars)
- Manage 3rd party field contractors for installations and maintenance, including schedule, contract, budget, and safety
- Manage a fleet of measurement systems, remote power supplies and communication equipment; perform advanced troubleshooting
- Generate engineering specifications for procurement and construction of measurement systems on wind and solar generation projects
- Act as subject matter expert during construction for technical review of measurement system design
- Manage and lead contractual wind turbine power curve testing activities according to IEC 61400-12-1, including pre-construction test planning, design, installation, independent test engineer management and report verification
- Maintain and update measurement systems management platform and database to communicate fleet status to Asset Optimization, Resource Assessment, and other stakeholders
- Develop strong relationships with vendors, subcontractors and consultants related to meteorological systems
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related engineering discipline
- Eligibility to register as a Professional Engineer is required in Canada
- Bachelor’s degree in other Science or Technology discipline with related technical experience may be considered for Measurement Systems Analyst
- Minimum of 7 years of experience working on complex instrumentation and measurement systems, contractual power curve testing, or renewable energy projects
- Experience with Campbell Scientific or NRG systems data loggers is a plus
- Knowledge and experience with IEC 61400-12-1 and/or IEC 61400-50-3 is a plus
- Experience managing contractors on meteorological towers projects or remote construction sites is a plus
- Highly motivated, driven self-starter and teamplayer
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, Visio, Project, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- For candidates in Canada proficiency in English and French is required
- Ability to travel to project sites in North America for 5-7 days at a time and work outside in various weather conditions
