About the role
- Create, develop, anchor and support execution, compliance, and continuous improvement of internal and external safety programs
- Drive behavior-based safety culture to achieve accident-prevention and loss mitigation at customer locations
- Develop site-specific safety metrics to achieve corporate goals and champion initiatives to enhance safety performance
- Work daily with Site Leadership and Safety Coordinators to promote safe work practices and safety awareness culture
- Serve as Site Safety champion for conducting incident/accident investigations, documentation, problem solving and implementing countermeasures
- Maintain safety files and records structure for corporate and field audits and business reporting
- Lead investigations of accidents/injuries and prepare material/evidence for hearings, lawsuits, insurance investigations and regulatory agencies
- Coordinate with Human Resources on drug, alcohol, and medical screening
- Operate required equipment (scissor lifts, telehandlers, boom lifts, UTVs) and perform occasional regional travel
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in EHS discipline
- OSHA 501 certification
- CSP, ASP, STS-C, IOSH and/or CHST certification equivalent
- 8+ years Occupational Health and/or Safety experience in a construction environment
- Must be able to operate equipment such as scissor lifts, telehandlers, boom lifts, and UTVs
- Ability and willingness to travel as required (minimal overnight travel ~5%)
- Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds and frequently up to 25 pounds; carry and climb ladders to 20 feet
- Ability to work in tight/confined spaces and demonstrate regular on-time attendance
- Coordinate with HR for drug, alcohol, and medical screening of employees
