Conduct regular site inspections to ensure strict adherence to all safety protocols and OSHA compliance.
Organize and lead engaging safety training sessions for all construction staff.
Investigate all accidents and incidents to identify root causes and implement effective prevention strategies.
Oversee and manage safety oversight for all contractors and subcontractors on site.
Maintain and update corporate and site-specific EHS dashboards, routinely sharing EHS metrics and reports.
Assist coordinators with critical document control and development related to safety.
Be on the front lines daily at construction project sites in the Washington D.C. area to ensure operations meet safety and occupational health standards.
Requirements
A Bachelor's degree in occupational safety and health or equivalent experience.
A minimum of 5 years of direct construction safety experience.
US Citizen with the ability to achieve a government security clearance.
Experience working for a General Contractor (preferred).
OSHA 510 and/or 500 certification (preferred).
CHST or CSP certification (preferred).
A thorough understanding of all relevant Federal and State safety rules and regulations.
Advanced knowledge of construction safety standards.
Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams while adapting to daily challenges.
The ability to diplomatically challenge, explain, and defend safety programs.
Excellent organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal abilities, and a talent for coaching and training others.
