About the role
- Lead a multi-discipline team of engineers, designers, and drafters on Transmission Line projects
- Manage execution of multiple transmission line projects and coordinate with internal and external departments
- Support business development, client interactions, project execution, and proposals
- Take ownership of project performance including quality, safety, schedule, budget, reporting, and client experience throughout project lifecycle
- Responsible for project execution, contract administration, planning, and resource management
- Mentor and coach team members and manage accountability
- Communicate and coordinate project activities with project manager, client, and other stakeholders
- Review lower-level engineering work and perform other duties as assigned
- Work under the direction of the VP of Engineering Services
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering from an ABET approved college or university
- 8+ years of experience in project management of utility transmission line projects
- Strong knowledge of electrical transmission system (69kV through 500kV)
- Proficient using Microsoft Office suite (e.g., Excel, Word, and Outlook)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Preferred Registered Professional Engineer or ability to obtain registration
- Relevant experience working directly with an electric utility or an electric utility consulting company performing design engineering and leading teams
- Experience with PLS-CADD Software
- Experience with SDG&E strongly preferred
