About the role
- Deliver sales targets and meet KPI's through the management of a mixed portfolio of new business and existing clients.
- Proactively drive revenue from previously unknown or under leveraged sources.
- Actively source opportunities through multiple avenues including research and networking.
- Implement strategic account management and key account planning programs.
- Prepare a wide range of written proposals including full costing quotations.
- Offer insightful and strategic solutions to business objectives.
- Support the implementation of marketing programs, new product rollouts and other initiatives.
- Develop knowledge of client sectors, business, industry issues and products and solutions.
Requirements
- A successful track record in Sales including business development, ideally within a consultative environment
- Political, Academic, or other Research-related sales or consulting experience
- Strong academic background & 4+ years of professional work experience
- An understanding of political campaigns or political polling (preferable but not essential)
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage your time effectively prioritizing tasks to meet a range of tight deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail
- The ability to communicate effectively to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Be a proactive and motivated 'go getter' who thrives in a sales environment
- Regular travel (at least once monthly) to meet with customers and attend research and political conferences.
- Being located in the greater Washington D.C., Northern VA, or MD area a plus but not required.
