About the role
- Design and deploy advanced LLM-powered applications that support Deel's Payroll product lines and operations
- Lead architecture decisions, cost optimization, and observability efforts for mission-critical AI workflows
- Collaborate with ML researchers, product managers, and application engineers
- Create massive impact by doing groundbreaking work in a high-scale product
- Build production-grade LLM applications, integrate LLM APIs, and implement system reliability patterns
Requirements
- 12+ years of engineering experience, with a strong focus on system design
- At least 1.5 years building production-grade LLM applications
- Python expertise for AI/ML development
- Node.js familiarity for integration with application teams
- Deep experience with vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, etc.)
- Prompt engineering, LLM API integration, and system reliability patterns
- Observability tooling for AI systems
- Hands-on experience (2+ years) implementing research and algorithms in Python, specifically in information retrieval, text processing, NLP, LLMs, and machine learning
- English fluency (ability to speak, read, and write English)
- (Bonus) RAG implementations, agentic workflows, LangChain/CrewAI
- (Bonus) Cost tracking and optimization for AI/LLM infra
- (Bonus) Pre-LLM ML/deep learning experience
- (Bonus) Multimodal system exposure
