About the role
- Engage directly with customers to understand their technical requirements and business objectives
Design and implement tailored technical solutions, often using Deel's and our partner Accounting and HCMs' APIs, webhooks, and backend infrastructure
Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Managers, Solutions Engineers, and Backend/Frontend Engineers to deliver both customer-specific and scalable product improvements
Contribute to product planning by feeding real-world customer use cases back into the roadmap
Build and enhance product features, debug issues, and improve reliability at "Deel speed"
Provide exceptional technical support during onboarding, implementation, and post-sale expansion
Act as a trusted technical advisor, helping enterprise customers unlock the full power of Deel
Requirements
- Excellent communication skills, especially with non-technical stakeholders and external clients
Experience delivering client-facing solutions, whether in implementation, consulting, or embedded technical roles
5+ years of experience as a backend or full-stack software engineer, ideally in SaaS or B2B platforms
Fluency in Node.js, TypeScript/JavaScript, with deep understanding of software engineering best practices
Strong SQL skills, particularly with PostgreSQL — including query optimization, migrations, and modeling
Hands-on API development experience, validation, and performance tuning
Love blending hands-on engineering with solving real customer problems
Thrive in ambiguous environments and take ownership from idea to delivery
Communicate clearly across functions and with clients — translating between technical and business needs
Have worked in fintech, HR tech, or SaaS
Have experience deploying solutions in customer environments (e.g., custom scripts, middlewares, internal APIs)
