About the role
- Serve as an expert on geopolitical developments in Latin America, and relevant data sources to improve our AI models
- Monitor and analyze the quality of our data feeds
- Own and develop projects to improve our AI models’ performance in the real time event detection space
- Lead strategic initiatives across teams, addressing critical opportunities or issues
- Make real-time decisions with incomplete data
- Work with multiple stakeholders across all offices to support region-specific training
- Collaborate on and communicate about daily priorities in a team-centric environment
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required, ideally with a concentration in Economics, International Relations, Area Studies, Political Science, or a closely related field strongly preferred
- Demonstrable professional experience utilising deep expertise in relation to the region, with experience working in a real time information environment preferred
- Interpret and succinctly describe ongoing, complex events with incomplete data in a fast-paced environment in English and Spanish; the ability to read and understand Portuguese is a plus
- Adaptable, innovative and able to juggle multiple competing priorities in evolving scenarios
- Passion for breaking news, current world events, technology, complemented with a strong understanding of both social media and publicly-available data
