About the role

  • Use compensation best practices and market trends to identify and guide program enhancement opportunities
  • Assist with compensation reviews, ensuring appropriate consultation, documentation, analysis, costing, and approvals are completed
  • Support the job evaluation process, including conducting job audits, reviewing job worth hierarchies, and ensuring pay equity compliance
  • Partner with operational management teams and People & Culture colleagues to oversee and consistently manage job description and job evaluation systems, ensuring appropriate documentation is maintained
  • Assist with merit letters and VIP processes, including tracking, communicating updates, mail merges, and data validation
  • Participate in compensation surveys and benchmarking activities; analyze results to assess internal equity, market competitiveness, and the organization’s ability to attract and retain talent
  • Support the annual compensation and salary merit review processes
  • Document and maintain compensation and job evaluation policies, procedures, guidelines, and practices in a clear, accurate, and accessible format
  • Prepare and analyze compensation reports, metrics, and data to provide insights that support total rewards and business decision-making
  • Support the rewards and recognition programs across D2L
  • Perform other related duties as required

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of related experience of global benefits and compensation, not limited to Canada and US and compensation/benefits practices and principles
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint); particular facility/ease with excel (v-lookups, pivots, if/then statements)
  • Working knowledge with HRIS Systems (knowledge of Dayforce is an asset)
  • Ability to analyze, interpret and share data
  • Knowledge of general HR procedures and practices including but not limited to employee information/records administration and handling of confidential or sensitive information
  • Possess a bachelor’s degree or diploma in Human Resources or a related field
