About the role
- Develop and execute key strategies and initiatives with specialty pharmaceutical manufacturers
- Procure products and define distribution strategies and acquisition economics
- Sell and manage specialty services such as data and reporting services, adherence programs and other performance services
- Direct account responsibilities for established manufacturers and manage pharma relationships at a leadership level
- Be accountable for cost of goods of pharmaceutical manufacturer products and drive cost reductions
- Identify and exploit new opportunities for current and new manufacturers
- Collaborate across multiple key business units using creativity, strategic vision and critical thinking
- Balance multiple priorities including concurrent contract negotiations and manufacturer initiatives
Requirements
- 10+ years of overall professional work experience
- 8 years experience in specialty pharmacy, healthcare, contracting or pharmaceutical industry required
- Successful experience in business development and contracting
- Experience effectively presenting in front of large, executive level customer audiences required
- Ability to travel, up to 20% of the time
- Bachelor's degree required; equivalent combination of experience and/or education may be considered
- MBA preferred
- 5 years experience in managing specialty/biologic manufacturer relationships preferred
- 2 years experience with contract negotiations and successful completion of contracts strongly preferred
- Strongly prefer a candidate in Northbrook, IL but will consider remote for the right candidate
