Assist in operational integrity, security, and regulatory compliance of the data center
Day-to-day operations including security functions, telecommunication standards and installations, customer build outs, general site response and triage, and customer interaction
Cable termination and testing, maintenance work, and remote hands management
Monitor and respond to mechanical, electrical, fire protection, telecom, and security systems (transformers, PLCs, generators, switchgear, UPS, STS, ATS, PDUs, chilled water, CRAC/CRAH, sprinkler systems, network equipment, cabling infrastructure, security hardware, CCTV)
Manage building service requests, work orders, and trouble tickets through resolution and ensure SLA compliance
Utilize CMMS system and follow work order completion processes
Mine cables without disrupting existing services and manage infrastructure projects
Provide physical security, perform facility and security tours, and notify stakeholders of security alarms and breaches
Incident escalation and report writing
Manage loading dock shipping and receiving
Assist with managing systems to avoid unplanned customer-impacting outages

Requirements
Basic knowledge of fundamentals and best practices of cabling media types
Basic understanding of 568A and 568B color codes and applications
Familiar with CCTV and access and control security systems
Ability to communicate effectively with customers and internal staff
Good troubleshooting and problem solving skills
Ability to learn quickly and address issues in a Mission Critical 24x7 environment
Able to write concise and accurate reports
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Schedule flexibility with ability to work non-standard business hours
Strong work ethic and accountability; meet CoreSite professional standards
Ability to follow escalation procedures for critical or emergency situations
Ability to operate in and promote a rigorous process-driven team environment

Operate hand and machine tools (hammer, drill, saw, etc.)
Operate electrical tools such as a multi-meter or infrared camera
Familiar with computer systems and software (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)
On-the-job understanding (or willingness to gain) of mechanical, electrical, fire life safety, and security systems used in data centers
High School Diploma or greater
2+ years of experience in either facilities or telecom industry
Experience as an installer in a mission critical facility is a plus
Must be able to pass an extensive background check, including criminal history, references, employment and education verifications, DMV and credit check
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
