About the role
- Use specialized training device computer software and/or hardware to develop, integrate and edit instructional text, audio, graphics, animation, and video for interactive presentations
- Implement quality control and review and revision procedures throughout the courseware development process
- Apply basic military technical knowledge to solve standard problems and support quality/ISO, security, and safety training programs
- Ensure systems and subsystems are fully operational, compliant with Information Assurance (IA) and cybersecurity requirements, and available for scheduled rotational support missions
- Provide technical and training assistance to customers via phone, email, video conferencing, and onsite using simulation training systems
- Provide instructional assistance including product familiarization, equipment safety briefings, conduct After Action Reviews (AARs), and facilitate operational product training
- Provide a positive customer service experience and perform Customer Support Help Desk duties as required
- Maintain and repair Training Aids, Devices, Simulators and Simulations (TADSS) and related equipment
- Travel to customer locations to perform on-site preventive maintenance checks and services (PMCS), maintenance and repair activities, and install software and password updates
- Troubleshoot to identify and isolate equipment faults, perform corrective actions per technical guidelines, and identify/use/ order repair parts as needed
- Assist or lead instruction of customer personnel in operation and maintenance of training products
- Assist with product integration and testing of new software and hardware; validate new software images and password update utilities and verify systems operational after installation
- Facilitate New Equipment Training (NET) Courses and participate in development of course material
- Conduct on-site installation following established testing procedures to ensure proper working order
- Prepare written synopses of repair activities and write or modify maintenance work instructions and troubleshooting steps
- Remove, dismantle, or partly dismantle training systems/components and perform repairs using hand tools
- Document repair actions in an electronic tracking tool
- May be cross-trained to support other devices and perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School diploma or higher education
- One or more years’ experience in simulation, computer maintenance, electronics technology, personal computer repair and assembly or other closely related disciplines, to include facilitating training
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to read and analyze electronic schematics, wire diagrams, and other mechanical and technical drawings
- Ability to travel for extended periods of time domestic (CONUS) and international (OCONUS)
- Ability to be “on-call” to include nights, weekends, and holidays
- Understanding of computers, networks, switches, and other network equipment
- Strong written and oral communication skills, including scheduling skills
- Must be willing to work a flexible workweek
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Must possess and maintain a valid U.S driver’s license and be insurable by company insurance
- Must possess a U.S. Passport
- Must be able to pass a background check to obtain a US government Common Access Card (CAC) and a classified security clearance
- May be required to travel for long periods of time
- Preferred: Associate or higher degree in a technical discipline
- Preferred: CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, and CompTIA Security+ certifications
- Preferred: Experience as a Computer Technologist or related position
- Preferred: Experience in loading software and operating system packages
- Preferred: In-depth knowledge of computer systems and troubleshooting to resolve complex issues and document events
- Preferred: Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Prefer past work experience with military simulation devices or related equipment
- Preferred: Prior Military service in the US Armed Forces (listed MOS/ratings such as 25B, 25F, 0681, 0651, CTN, CTM, 3D0X2, 3D0X3)
