About the role
- Provide full infrastructure and platform support of critical systems and applications for NAVSUP OIS
- Install, update, troubleshoot, monitor, optimize and maintain UNIX systems/servers and associated configurations
- Manage system/server resources including performance, capacity, availability, serviceability, and recoverability for production, development, test and COOP platforms
- Conduct periodic system maintenance including cleaning, disk checks, reboots, data dumps, and testing
- Evaluate and optimize system software; install releases; maintain utilities; test and debug system software; prepare and edit system documentation
- Maintain cybersecurity and baseline system security per organizational policies, IAVM, STIGs, CND directives, RMF
- Plan, execute, and verify data redundancy and system recovery procedures; monitor backups and restore files as requested
- Manage accounts, network rights, and access per OIS Access Control Plan
- Complete After Action Reports for abnormal operations and incident reporting
- Provide after-hours and on-call support as needed; participate in team on-call rotation
- Develop and document OIS systems administration standard operating procedures
Requirements
- Must have fully adjudicated DOD T5 background check (Top Secret Clearance) to start
- U.S. Citizen required for Federal Clearance
- Directive 8570.1/8140 - IAT II: Security+ Baseline cert required to start (Security+ or CCNA-Security, SSCP, CySA+, or GICSP)
- Computing Environment Cert required within 3 months if not in hand: CompTIA Server+, Solaris 7 (or newer), AWS SysOps Administrator Associate, or similar cloud certification
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or related technical discipline
- Minimum six (6) years’ experience administering UNIX Server operating systems
- Experience maintaining, troubleshooting, performance monitoring, and disaster recovery of UNIX systems
- Experience evaluating, developing, and/or analyzing IS/IT applied to information architectures, including client-server systems, distributed databases, WAN and LAN communications
- Ability to work independently with little supervision; self-starter and strong leader
- Availability for after-hours support and on-call rotation
- Desired: Knowledge of Naval Ordnance Information Systems; ACAS scan and remediation experience; HBSS experience
