About the role

  • Provide project support within Electric Utility System Planning & Engineering team
  • Perform Area Planning Studies and Electric Utility Asset Management
  • Conduct Analytical Studies for Distribution System and System Modeling for Stability Studies and Power Flow Analysis
  • Conduct Thermal Capability Analysis
  • Perform Distributed Generation Interconnection Studies and Distributed Energy Resource (DER) Integration
  • Support Renewable Energy Implementation and Clean Energy Engineering
  • Conduct System Impact Studies, Arc Flash Analysis, Power System Studies
  • Perform Protection and Coordination Review, Analysis, and Settings
  • Work within engineering design standards and quality programs specific to client needs and requirements
  • Estimate project scope, develop project plans, and meet critical success factors and deadlines
  • Serve as client-facing engineer providing client confidence and collaborating with utility groups and operations

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in electrical distribution planning for utilities
  • Direct experience with Transmission and/or Distribution System Planning and Distributed Generation Projects
  • Experience with Distributed Energy Resources (DER)
  • Experience in Electric Power Distribution Design
  • ASPEN, CYME, PSS/E, Synergi
  • Planning Criteria and Standards: ISO, FERC, NERC, NPCC
  • Electrical System Planning Studies and Analysis
  • Project Management skills and ability to meet critical deadlines
  • Professional attitude, accountable, able to work independently and with utility groups, departments, and operations
  • Ability to estimate project scope and develop project plan to meet critical success factors
  • Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Skills
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and high level of business and engineering ethics
  • Outgoing team player able to provide client confidence
