Provide technical guidance for Asset Health Center equipment, including transformers, circuit breakers, and battery test parameters
Define technical parameters for future assets such as capacitor banks, voltage transformers, relays and controls, equipment monitors, DC systems, and protection communication devices
Support the Asset Management group in maintaining spare inventory for transmission-level equipment, including transformers, breakers, DC systems, disconnect switches, relays, and communication devices
Develop capital projects to address substation condition items in support of the transmission portfolio and improve system reliability
Review field test results for transmission and substation equipment, providing recommendations for resolution
Provide technical support to commissioning and maintenance engineers during capital projects and maintenance activities
Interface daily with planning portfolio engineers, client management, and sponsors to align the long-range integrated portfolio plan with strategy and existing projects
Ensure synergies across projects are captured within the portfolio of work
Review client sponsor projects to confirm proper justification and portfolio alignment
Mentor and provide informal training to client portfolio engineers on T&D design and projects
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline required
Minimum 3 years of planning, transmission, and/or substation engineering experience preferred
Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail
Excellent communication skills with professional presence and client-facing etiquette
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and adapting to scope changes or unexpected challenges
Capable of working independently and in teams to coordinate across client functions including Siting and Permitting, Project Management, Maintenance, Forestry, Real Estate, Construction, and Operations
