About the role
- Sell Confluent solutions to small and medium-sized enterprises.
- Use prospecting, sales, negotiation, and leadership skills to meet and exceed quarterly sales target.
- Drive revenue growth for large, diverse, complex territories.
- Proactively prospect, identify, qualify, develop, and close a sales pipeline.
- Manage the entire sales process, collaborating with business development, customer success, and support.
- Develop, present, and sell a value proposition.
- Partner with Solutions Engineers & Professional Services to ensure customer success.
- Liaise with customer contacts to manage relationships, identify new opportunities, and maximize sales.
- Understand Confluent offerings and competitive landscape.
- Travel to customer sites to identify/develop sales opportunities when required.
- Negotiate SaaS/cloud/software contracts.
Requirements
- 3+ years of field experience in a quota-carrying role focused on landing net-new logos.
- Prior experience in Big Data, Cloud, SaaS, Open Source, or Enterprise IT Solutions.
- Previous sales methodology training (i.e. MEDDPICC, Challenger, etc.).
- Consistent track record of success and history of overachieving and hitting quota attainment.
- Exceptional communication skills - written and oral including strong presentation skills.
- Excellent time management skills.
- High integrity, intelligence, self-driven, and team player.
- Highly developed selling, customer relations, and negotiation skills.
- Open to Travel to customer locations as needed.
- BS/BA degree or equivalent preferred.
