About the role
- Analyse public position filings, mutual fund disclosures, and settlement reports from Depository Trust Company to identify real-time shareholder movements
- Stay informed with all current events, including stock market, M&A, shareholder activism and ESG
- Conduct client calls to disseminate shareholder and stock market intelligence
- Provide support for all M&A and shareholder activism efforts, including work product and business development
- Identify institutional investor voting for clients
- Support consulting research
- Responsible for the day-to-day consulting of market trading and identifying the investors behind those trades
- Deliver high-quality client deliverables and engage with the Proxy Advisory team and clients on work product
- Work closely with peers, account executives, business development, and the consulting team to incorporate investor intelligence into client deliverables
Requirements
- 5-10 years of experience in stock surveillance or shareholder identification roles
- Advanced knowledge of the capital markets, proxy advisors, M&A and shareholder activism
- Comprehension of investors and research capabilities to find, review, and distil all public, and non-public, trading resources
- Expertise researching, compiling and working with large amounts of data, and the ability to present findings in a clear and concise manner
- Proven ability to be a key member of a diverse team of professionals working with companies across a variety of industries and market capitalizations on stock surveillance, proxy solicitation and/or shareholder engagement
- Demonstrated resourcefulness and research capabilities to gather investor trading intelligence needed to support client deliverables
- Comfortable learning new concepts and executing on multiple projects simultaneously, with strong time management skills and ability to prioritize effectively
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills required
