About the role
- Manage P&L and financial performance for assigned products, driving revenue and gross margin
- Monitor sales, backlogs, financial and shipping results; participate in annual budgeting and 5-year planning
- Initiate and drive cost reduction activities; review R&D and CapEx investments and measure ROIC
- Drive design wins and market share by working with sales channels, distributors, product marketing, and customers
- Lead product engineering teams to design manufacturable standard and customized products on schedule and on budget
- Support sales with customer engagement, translating requirements into profitable product offerings, specs and pricing
- Manage product life cycle processes, prepare business cases for new development projects, and monitor R&D project metrics
- Assist Operations with forecasting, unconstrained demand, order fulfillment, capacity planning, and vendor/CM negotiations
- Develop product strategy, monitor competitive landscape, and prepare product launch collateral to support marketing
- Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Operations, Supply Chain, Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Legal
- Travel up to 40% as required
Requirements
- BA or BS in Engineering required
- MBA or MS/PhD in Engineering strongly preferred
- 10+ years of experience in Product Management/Engineering Leadership roles in the materials or related industry
- Deep understanding of optical interconnects, silicon photonics, packaging technologies, and data center architectures
- Direct exposure to Co-Packaged Optics, pluggable transceivers, or related optical components
- Familiarity with hyperscaler and switch/ASIC vendor ecosystems
- Experience in managing partnerships with foundries, packaging houses, and contract manufacturers
- Knowledge and understanding of financial instruments: P&L, balance sheet, income statement
- Development of product roadmaps
- Proven track record of continuous improvement
- Ability to easily and successfully work with employees and customers in a multi-cultural, global team environment
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and complex issues involving external and internal priorities
- Experience with problem analysis and resolution at the strategic and functional levels
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
- High standard of ethics, professionalism, leadership, and competency
- Ability to travel up to 40%
