About the role
- Utilize established best practices to understand business objectives and establish and manage scope, schedule, budget, change management, risk mitigation, project governance, and safety requirements
- Utilize risk management and procurement strategies tailored to project timing and complexity to engage external resources or materials
- Develop comprehensive Request For Expenditure (RFE) including capital budget, business case, and feasibility with project sponsor and operating business unit
- Support annual corporate budget planning by providing preliminary budget estimates and resource forecasting
- Oversee completion of conceptual or detailed designs, technical investigations, assessments, inspections, and monitor and control construction activities
- Provide contract administration and contract management services
- Monitor and control the project budget by reviewing and approving expenses, maintaining accurate estimate to completion forecast, and reconciling and closing the RFE upon project completion
- Annual travel up to 20% may be required
- Work closely with engineering technology and design team, real estate team, health and safety team, and operating/supporting business units to lead or support stakeholders through the full project life cycle
Requirements
- 6-9 years of relevant progressively responsible experience in commercial construction project management
- Have a Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, in Engineering (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered)
- A strong understanding of all stages of the construction project lifecycle and commercial construction industry
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office programs
- PMP designation considered a valuable asset
- Annual travel up to 20% may be required
- May be required to complete a substance test, a criminal record check and a drivers abstract in accordance with FCL policies
- Preference for candidates located in Regina, SK (location will be determined by successful candidate)
