About the role
- Serve as Tier 4 escalation point for complex physical and virtual desktop computing issues
- Design and implement strategies and roadmaps across the enterprise for Infrastructure portfolio technologies
- Develop roadmap of evolution from current to future state for in-scope infrastructure
- Identify and document technical and architecture requirements for solutions implemented by internal teams and third-party partners
- Assess and review architectural implementation of systems and projects for conformance with defined standards
- Document architecture design and analysis work
- Collaborate with business partners, software engineers, technology and operations leadership to advance business outcomes
- Work with 3rd party vendors and Managed Services team to develop and implement technology-enabled roadmaps
- Verify compliance with all technical requirements
- Train and act as a resource and mentor for Infrastructure architecture team members and IT peers
- Provide proactive troubleshooting, personalized service, and white-glove support to executive leadership
- Manage vendor relationships and align desktop computing strategies with broader business outcomes
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related computing major required or equivalent experience
- Typically, 8 years of experience designing and implementing infrastructure solutions in physical and virtual End User Computing
- Prior vendor management experience (examples: Dell, Lenovo)
- Candidate location in US-based Central or Eastern time zones
- Strong knowledge of physical and virtual computing and latest market developments
- Ability to translate business needs into solution architecture requirements and estimate financial impact
- Technical ability to serve as subject matter expert, lead architect, and mentor
- Strong interpersonal, planning, organizational, and facilitation skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience resolving complex issues up to executive level and providing white-glove support
- Willingness to travel periodically to corporate offices
- Work must be performed from within the United States (U.S. work authorization required)
