Recommend and execute actuarial reserve strategies for Commercial Liability lines (General Liability and Umbrella)
Collaborate with business partners and functional subject matter experts and provide actuarial input as needed
Partner with peers, business partners and leaders to support a specific segment's strategy through actionable insights and analytics
Monitor profitability/reserving and claim trends for a product line or segment and share results with actuarial leaders and peers
Create and modify tools/analytics as needed and produce standard and special reports
Provide support and mentoring to less experienced team members and help manage projects as needed
Stay up to date in actuarial expertise and industry trends and developments
Report to Director or above
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline, or equivalent
Typically a minimum of four years of related work experience
Typically at least three to five successfully completed CAS exams; may include those with their Associateship or Fellowship
Solid knowledge of core functions of an insurance company, general insurance, actuarial and statistical concepts
Demonstrated technical expertise and product specific knowledge
Ability to effectively interact with all levels of CNA’s internal and external business partners and sometimes influence decisions
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Demonstrates attention to detail
Ability to make critical business decisions effectively within scope of authority
Ability to work independently and as a team, and manage multiple moderately complex projects
Ability to comprehend business data and metrics and to further articulate analyses of actuarial data within internal reports
