About the role

  • Own the evaluation of the feasibility and effectiveness of new hedge programs, ensuring alignment with the organization's risk management framework
  • Design and conduct testing and analysis on new hedge programs, both rider and indexed, associated with new and existing products
  • Partner with divisional Product Development teams on new product market risks and hedging mitigation analysis
  • Influence Product Development in their design through prioritizing and balancing hedge effectiveness and efficiency
  • Analyze and recommend enhancements to current hedge programs based on industry research and stakeholder considerations
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing program performance, identifying areas for enhancement, and implementing best practices in hedging strategies
  • Conduct regular market analysis identifying hedging best practices and emerging trends from peer companies in the industry
  • Assess the viability and effectiveness of common industry best hedging practices and drive enhancements to current hedge programs
  • Own the model calibration, implementation and testing of Numerix and other exotic option valuation software
  • Serve as a key contributor on the Enterprise ALM Hedging team and partner with stakeholders throughout the company

Requirements

  • FSA designation required
  • 6+ years of actuarial experience (preferred)
  • Hands-on experience in hedging, with knowledge of both life and annuity products
  • Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, finance, mathematics, or a related field
  • Proficient in Bloomberg, Tableau, Prophet, Python
  • Experience with Numerix and other exotic option valuation software (model calibration, implementation, testing)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and intellectual rigor
  • Effective communicator with the ability to build relationships and collaborate across teams
  • Proven track record of advancing projects and delivering actionable insights
  • Willingness to relocate if not located near Newport Beach, CA or Omaha, NE; hybrid schedule requires four days in the office
