About the role
- Serve as the lead business developer for growth and acquisition of assigned accounts in Consumer Tech, Retail, E-Commerce, and Lifestyle Brands
- Oversee research project execution including survey design, data analysis, insight gathering, and strategy formation
- Partner with Client Services, Business Development, Analytics, Marketing, and People & Culture to deliver superior client experiences
- Lead consultative sales process: respond to RFPs, design methodology, develop project budgets and timelines, prepare proposals, finalize Statements of Work
- Lead forecasting and long-range financial planning for client projects, ensuring budget projections and resource allocation
- Build long-term consultative relationships with clients and act as senior consultant overseeing project execution
- Demonstrate thought leadership by speaking at events, writing blogs/articles, and engaging in the MRx community
- Lead internal project teams with high employee engagement and provide mentorship and feedback
- Work with Strategy & Innovation Operations and P&C to recruit and onboard new talent
- Partner with VP, Practice Leader to establish and meet goals via balanced scorecard (sales, client satisfaction, profitability, efficiency, mentorship)
Requirements
- Degree in Statistics, Marketing, Market Research, Business Management, Psychology, Sociology, Applied Economics, Political Science, or related field
- 7+ years of overall custom market research experience
- 3+ years independently leading projects, building client relationships, and growing accounts
- Proven success in leading and selling research within Consumer Tech, Retail, E-Commerce, and Lifestyle Brands
- Experience delegating, managing, mentoring, and influencing project teams
- Understanding of complex market research methods (e.g., trade-off designs, factor analysis, driver modeling)
- Fluent in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Excellent at managing multiple relationships and priorities
- Excellent at establishing and managing relationships with clients, vendors and co-workers
- Understanding of CMB best practices, processes, and priorities
- Sense of humor and self-aware leadership qualities
