About the role
- Handle and resolve offline tax cases that cannot be processed automatically by the Sprintax software
- Prepare and review individual federal and state tax returns (Form 1040-NR and state equivalents) for nonresident taxpayers
- Analyze supporting tax documentation, income statements (W-2, 1042-S, 1099, etc.) and residency information to ensure accurate tax treatment
- Identify and escalate any complex or high-risk cases to senior team members or tax experts
- Communicate with other teams via email or internal ticketing systems to clarify missing information and provide updates on case progress
- Maintain accurate records of tax cases handled and ensure timely resolution in accordance with internal service level agreements
- Stay up to date with IRS and state tax guidance relevant to nonresident aliens, students, and scholars
- Support other operational or compliance tasks as required during peak season
