About the role

  • Serve as the technical lynchpin through the entire sales cycle (pre-sales and account technical leadership) for Public Sector customers
  • Work closely with Public Sector prospects and customers to educate, empower, and ensure success on the Cloudflare platform
  • Qualify prospect and customer use cases, discover technical requirements, lead demonstrations, identify and design solutions, and collaborate on proofs-of-concept (PoCs)
  • Advise existing customers on technical best practices, implement Cloudflare products/features, and provide strategic technology guidance as part of a dedicated account team
  • Train and onboard new customers via video-conference or in person, create documentation, and support long-term technology strategy
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Customer Support teams
  • Travel approximately 30-40% for meetings with prospects/customers, conferences, industry events, and team collaboration

Requirements

  • Demonstrated understanding in internet technologies: OSI Model layers 1-7, Routing TCP/UDP, DNS (authoritative and recursive), HTTP(S), SSL / TLS
  • Comfort with on premise infrastructure and networking configurations, including potential legacy systems or methodologies
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a customer-facing sales or consulting role
  • Technical curiosity and passion; stay up to date with Cloudflare products and industry trends
  • Focus on learning, teaching, collaboration, mentorship, and growth
  • Project management, relationship building, and high emotional intelligence (EQ)
  • Understand the role of a firewall and differences between L3, L4, and L7 firewalls
  • Comfortable with command-line interfaces, RESTful APIs, and analyzing HTTP requests/responses in a browser’s web inspector
  • Foundational understanding of AI and actively exploring or building AI-driven capabilities
  • Bonus: Graduate-level degrees in Computer Science, Engineering or related fields
  • Bonus: Certifications such as Azure/AWS/GCP Architect
